I believe the story is about a father who is waiting for his son to come home from the war. The door on the right is his room when he was in high school. He use to run track and was successful at running track. He joined the Army as a place to escape from all the problems he has at home. He fought in the war of Afghanistan. He was killed in gunfire while trying to rescue his best friend after his best friend was shot. His father anxiously awaits his sons return but has no idea about his sons death yet. His son watches over him all day and night.
